Renault has announced the launch of its Trafic E-Tech electric van, which is now open for pre-orders ahead of its official release in June. The first customers are expected to receive their vehicles in September.
The Trafic E-Tech is the latest van to join Renault’s fully electric LCV lineup, joining the Kangoo E-Tech electric and the Master E-Tech electric.
The van is based on the award-winning Trafic, which has sold more than 2.4 million units in Europe since 1980 and is the third most popular LCV in the continent.
Bold design reflects Renault’s new identity
The new electric van features a bold design that reflects Renault’s new identity, as well as a high level of performance and versatility.
It comes in three versions, including a high roof model that is unique in the UK market which allows for more cargo space and easier access.
The Trafic E-Tech electric offers a choice of two body choices – 5.08 and 5.48 metres – plus two heights of 1.967 and 2.498 metres. Load space ranges from 5.8m3 to 8.9m3.
It can carry loads of up to 4.15 metres in length in the LWB version, thanks to its load-through capability.
The van has a towing capacity of 920kg and a payload of 1,222kg.
Trafic E-Tech electric cabin
The Trafic E-Tech electric cabin is a practical and comfortable workspace for professionals on the move.
Storage space is 88 litres with 19.7 litres in the console, 14.6 litres in the doors, and 54 litres in the bench.
It also features a standard “mobile office”, which consists of a middle passenger seat that folds down to become a work desk or a table for meals, with a detachable A4 clipboard and a laptop storage slot.
E-Tech electric is powered by a 75hp electric motor
The Trafic E-Tech electric is powered by a 75hp electric motor that delivers 210Nm of torque instantly.
It has a 52kWh lithium-ion battery that can drive for up to 186 miles on a single charge.
It supports rapid DC charging up to 50kW, which can fully recharge a flat battery in an hour.
It also supports 7kW charging at home and 22kW fast charging, which can provide 31 miles of range in less than 25 minutes.
Battery has an 8-year, 100,000-mile warranty
The battery comes with an 8-year, 100,000-mile warranty, which guarantees its performance and state of health. If the battery drops below 70% of its nominal level, it will be replaced free of charge.
The Trafic E-Tech electric costs from £34,500 plus VAT after the £5,000 PiVG (Plug-in Van Grant), which is available for eligible customers.
It’s also exempt from road tax, congestion charge and ultra-low emission zone fees, making it an attractive and affordable option for eco-conscious drivers and businesses.
