This is the impressive Citroen e-Berlingo van which is ideal for businesses and fleets everywhere.
The pure electric range for the award winner is 171 miles thanks to the electric motor producing 136 hp and the 50kWh battery pack.
The e-Berlingo van will take just 30 minutes to recharge its battery to 80% of capacity using a fast charger.
Load volume for the new Citroen e-Berlingo van
The load volume for the new Citroen e-Berlingo van is up to 4.4 cubic metres and the maximum payload is 800 kg.
There are two trims and three configurations to choose from, plus there’s the ‘My Citroen’ app to enable drivers to control the pre-heating and battery charging remotely from their smartphone.
The new van won’t be available in the UK until later this year but will be joining the firm’s e-Dispatch medium van, and the upcoming e-Relay large van to complete the firm’s 100% electric van range.
Citroen van uses regenerative braking technology
It helps too that the new Citroen van uses regenerative braking technology to top-up the battery whenever the van is breaking.
The battery warranty is for 100,000 miles or eight years.
The maximum speed for the electric motor is 84 mph and there are three driving modes for the van.
With ‘normal’, the e-Berlingo can be used for everyday driving conditions, with ‘eco’ the power is limited with restricted use of the air conditioning and heating, and with ‘power’ mode, drivers get to enjoy better performance and comfort under maximum load conditions.
Citroen e-Berlingo panel van
As mentioned, the Citroen e-Berlingo panel van is available in either M or XL sizes.
It’s also available as a crew van and seats up to five people, and at just 1.84 m tall, it should be able to enter restricted underground car parks.
The maximum load length is 3.09metres – that’s for the M version – while the XL e-Berlingo has a maximum length of 3.44metres.
The trim levels available for UK buyers are the most popular Enterprise offering, and the Driver which is the range-topping specification.
Electric van offering from Citroen is well equipped
The new electric van offering from Citroen is also well equipped with extensive connected services including an SOS system to contact the emergency services in an accident.
Citroen also says that the electric version of its e-Berlingo van is also capable of becoming a mobile office with a swivelling integrated writing surface, plus there’s a lot of storage in the cabin.
Safety kit includes active lane departure warning, distance alert, hill descent assist, trailer stability control and extended traffic sign recognition.
As an all-electric van, the Citroen e-Berlingo is certainly worth considering since the standard van is an award winner and the battery-powered version is set to impress.
