Mercedes has introduced a new electric eSprinter model with more features and benefits for fleet operators.
The van has a variety of options to suit different customer needs, such as two battery sizes (81 or 113 kWh) and two motor power levels (100 or 150 kW).
Customers also get two body lengths (L2 or L3), two body styles (van or chassis), and two trim levels (PRO or SELECT) to choose from.
eSprinter also boasts a longer electric range
The eSprinter also boasts a longer electric range than its predecessor, reaching up to 271 miles on a single charge with the 113 kWh battery, based on the WLTP combined cycle.
This is more than twice the range of the previous model.
It can also be charged with both AC and DC power and can reach 80% charge in about 42 minutes with a 115 kW fast-charger, which is standard for the UK market.
Range of standard safety, security and assistance systems
The new eSprinter also comes with a range of standard safety, security and assistance systems, such as Active Brake Assist and Active Lane Keeping Assist.
There’s also blind spot assist, Intelligent Speed Assist and the Mercedes’ emergency call system.
Drivers also get an anti-theft protection package, and a reversing camera.
Additional features for the eSprint also impress
Additional features, such as Moving-off Information Assist, Sideguard Assist, and a parking package with a 360-degree camera and a 3D display, are also available.
The eSprinter also has the latest MBUX multimedia system with a 10.25-inch display, which offers faster computing and better navigation.
Customers can also access free intelligent digital services with their ‘Mercedes me’ account.
Mercedes eSprinter is priced from £73,260
The Mercedes eSprinter is priced from £73,260, excl VAT, for the 113 kWh models, which are now available for order.
The first deliveries are expected in May.
The eSprinter looks like qualifying for the OZEV plug-in grant, which can reduce the price by up to 35%, or a cool £5,000 maximum.
Orders for the 81 kWh battery vans and other variants will open later this year.
