This is the impressive new Vauxhall Combo-e that offers an all-electric, zero-emissions range of 171 miles.
The fully electric variant is based on the award-winning Combo range and is aimed at private and business users wanting a zero-emissions van.
The power comes from a 50kW battery and a 100kW electric motor producing 136hp.
And, more impressively, the 100kW rapid charging system enables the battery to be charged to 80% of its capacity in just 30 minutes.
Load volume of the Vauxhall Combo-e
The load volume of the Vauxhall Combo-e is 4.4m³ for the L2H1 variant.
And the load length is up to 3,440 mm.
The battery does not intrude into the cabin or load bay and is placed under the floor between the van’s rear and front axle.
This battery position also boosts the low centre of gravity to help with stability and cornering when fully loaded.
There’s also the MyVauxhall app which allows drivers to find the nearest charging station, as well as offering live navigation services and the battery’s charge status.
Performance for the Combo-e
The performance for the Combo-e sees the battery delivering a 0 to 62 mph sprint time of 11 seconds and torque of 260Nm.
The top speed is 80mph which makes it an ideal choice for long motorway journeys, and it is also a great van to drive around town.
The battery’s power is topped up with a sophisticated regenerative braking system.
And, for those who may be worried, the all-electric Combo-e has the same capabilities as the Combo diesel and petrol variants that won the International Van of the Year 2019 competition.
Two lengths for the Combo-e
There are two lengths for the Combo-e and the maximum payload is 800kg.
The crew van variants can seat four passengers plus the driver, with equipment and cargo stay stowed safely behind the bulkhead.
There’s also an eight-inch touchscreen with satnav and a multimedia radio and smartphone compatibility.
The van comes with traffic sign recognition, driver drowsiness alert, automatic emergency braking and a forward collision alert system that will detect pedestrians in front of the van.
Some models also feature the firm’s surround rear vision camera to help with reversing and protecting vulnerable road users.
The new Vauxhall Combo-e will arrive in the UK’s showrooms this autumn and joins the excellent Vivaro-e as another fully electric van variant to order.
