New Citroen Berlingo creates interest at CV Show
The new Citroen Berlingo generated a lot of interest and, depending on the model, the van comes with either a five-speed or six speed manual gearbox or the firm’s ETG6 auto transmission.
The Berlingo also comes with stop-start technology and the widest variety of factory-built variants in its segment which includes three trim levels, two panel van lengths and an electric van.
There’s also the choice of a platform cab for fitting special bodywork, a crew van and the XTR+ which is Citroen’s enhanced traction van.
The new Citroen Berlingo range is also the first LCV from the firm that comes with Euro6 compliant BlueHDi diesel engines which are fuel-efficient and come with low emissions.
Owners will find that the engines will deliver around 69 mpg, with CO2 emissions of 109g/km.
New technology for the Citroen Berlingo
All Citroen vans will feature this new engine technology, the Berlingo is the first and all vans will feature the engines from September next year.
Alongside the introduction of new diesel engines, the Berlingo has also had its spec upgraded with some models coming with cruise control as standard.
Other kit includes a 7-inch touchscreen, an upgraded DAB system and the Enterprise trim level has an improved audio system.
Options for the Citroen Berlingo include a reversing camera, front parking sensors and a colour touchscreen for audio streaming.
Other standard kit for the Berlingo includes satnav and stolen vehicle tracking. This telematics platform will also offer owners improved safety and security and productivity benefits – for a low additional cost.
The Berlingo’s exterior has also been redesigned, especially the front bumper and grille, and the van now features daytime running lights.
