To underline its popularity with its customers, one of the fastest-growing van rental firms has taken delivery of 330 new Ford Transit vans.
The models now join 8,500 vans which are reliably servicing clients of T.O.M. Vehicle Rental which has sites in Nottingham, Manchester and Scotland.
In the last few years, the firm has seen remarkable growth since its start in 1991.
James Rafferty, the firm’s sales and operations director, said that in 2010 they had a fleet of 1,500 vehicles based on just one site.
Firm is a huge fan of the Ford Transit
Now T.O.M. has seven sites and is seeing increasing demand from satisfied customers – around 35% of its fleet is from Ford.
Mr Rafferty said: “We find out what our rental customers are planning to do and then ensure we provide a vehicle that is right for them.
“Ford has a range of vans that has something for everyone, from small vans to large and our clients like them.
“Ford have easy maintenance which is a key strength for the Transit range which gives us peace of mind.”
Ford Transit helps to grow sales
Indeed, commercialvehicle.com reported recently that Ford vans are establishing a clear lead in the market.
The new impressive Ford Transit range has helped to underpin its sales success to help fuel a 28% year-on-year sales increase.
Ford sold more than 6,400 commercial vehicles in the UK last year and its light commercial van sales have mushroomed from 604 to more than 1,700.
This strong performance has helped push Ford’s market share from 12% to 25.5% in just over a year.
There’s no doubt that it’s busy relaunch campaign of the new Transit family including the Courier, Connect and Custom has helped the Blue Oval to dominate their respective markets.
