New Volkswagen Crafter revealed with enhanced tech

The new Volkswagen Crafter boasts a revamped interior, advanced driver assistance systems, and a starting price of £45,660.

The wait is over for businesses looking to upgrade their fleet as the order books for the impressive new Volkswagen Crafter have opened.

The model has undergone a major interior overhaul and there’s a suite of new advanced driver-assistance systems.

Starting at £45,660 OTR, the first deliveries are expected to arrive next month.

New VW Crafter with standard features

Safety is a major focus for the new VW Crafter with standard features now including front assist with autonomous emergency braking, lane assist and park distance control.

For the first time on the van, travel assist and emergency assist are available as options.

The interior gets a modern makeover with a refreshed dashboard design, a digital cockpit instrument cluster and a new steering wheel style.

Driver usability has been boosted with relocated controls for the handbrake, lights, heating, ventilation, air vents and automatic gearbox – if fitted.

New composition colour infotainment system

Connectivity receives a major improvement with the new composition colour infotainment system featuring a 10.4-inch touchscreen, App-Connect, and We Connect with integrated eSIM and mobile online services.

Wireless smartphone charging and USB-C ports are also standard.

An optional Discover Media navigation system with a 12.9-inch touchscreen is available.

Commerce and Commerce Plus trims

Initially offered in Commerce and Commerce Plus trims, the new Crafter caters to diverse needs with a wide range of body styles, drivetrains and engine options.

Standard configurations include medium wheelbase with a high roof and long wheelbase with a high roof.

Low roof and super high roof options can be ordered.

Options for the Volkswagen Crafter

Engine options for the Volkswagen Crafter include a 140PS 2.0-litre TDI for the CR30 model, while the CR35 van offers a 163PS or 177PS 2.0-litre TDI engine with various drivetrain configurations.

The CR50 boasts a 163PS 2.0-litre TDI engine exclusively.

Both CR35 and CR50 can be equipped with an optional eight-speed automatic gearbox.

There’s a generous standard equipment level offered on both Commerce and Commerce Plus trims, including a multi-function steering wheel, parking sensors and driver assistance systems.
